View FlightsThe cheapest flight to Maasai Mara is the one that fits your whole trip: the right airstrip for your camp, a fare that includes the baggage you need and a transfer that is already arranged. A low headline price stops being cheap if it lands you at the wrong airstrip and adds a long game-drive transfer. Use these steps to keep the total cost down:
Driving from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara usually takes five to six hours each way, much of it on rough roads. Flying takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour, and your lodge vehicle often begins a game drive straight from the airstrip. Once you count the extra safari time and the cost of a private road transfer, a cheap flight is often better value than the road.

FlyAirVan safari flights depart from Wilson Airport in Nairobi, which has a dedicated FlyAirVan check-in terminal. If you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, allow time for the road transfer to Wilson.
Roughly 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the airstrip and any stops the flight makes on the way.
For one to four travellers a scheduled seat is usually cheaper. For larger groups, families or photographers with heavy kit, a private charter shared between the group can be competitive. Ask reservations to quote both.
